Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School – Principal

Founded in 1892 as a non-denominational day and boarding school, Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School (incorporating the co-educational Ipswich Junior Grammar School) is today one of Queensland’s most successful K-12 schools, with more than 1,000 day and boarding students across its co-educational Early Education Centre and primary school and its girls-only secondary school. Boarding is available from Year 5.

The School, located in Queensland’s fastest growing region, has long been one of Queensland’s highest-performing academic schools, and prides itself on preparing students for higher learning, global citizenship and life. The incoming Principal will have  a great opportunity, working with the Board of Trustees, to help shape the next version of the School’s strategic direction and influence the associated capital works program.

With the completion of Dr Peter Britton’s final contract as Principal of Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School after 12 years as Principal, the Trustees of the IGGS & IJGS Board invite applications for the role of Principal from January 2023. Dr Britton leaves the School, in its 130th year, as a leading academic school in the region and with the highest enrolment in 20 years.
